Tired of going round in circles and not progressing in your calling with God. Do you feel rejected? Do you struggle with emotional thoughts? Feeling like no-one knows what your going through. How to know and decern when your being attacked by the enemy.
Here’s what you might expect in a typical deliverance ministry session:
Conversation beforehand
The deliverance minister will usually ask about your spiritual background, why you’re seeking deliverance, and any struggles you’re experiencing.
They may ask about trauma, recurring behaviors, fears, or other life experiences to understand your situation.
Prayer
The session generally begins with prayer, inviting God’s presence and asking the holy Spirit for guidance.
Scripture may be read.
Confession and forgiveness
Many ministries encourage confessing and repenting of known sins and forgiving people who have hurt you.
This is often seen as an important part of spiritual healing.
Renouncing beliefs or practices
You will be invited to verbally renounce things you believe have been spiritually harmful, such as involvement in certain practices, destructive habits, or beliefs inconsistent with your faith.
Deliverance prayers
The deliverance minister will go into those areas of trauma by using scripture like Hebrews 4.12
The deliverance minister will speak directly to what is evil spirits, commanding them to leave in the name of Jesus’.
Remember Exodus 23.30 and also Deuteronomy 7.22
Possible emotional or physical reactions
You may experience strong emotions such as crying, relief, trembling, or a sense of peace.
Others experience little or no outward reaction.
Many sincere Christians believe that dramatic manifestations are not required for genuine spiritual change.
Aftercare
The session often ends with prayer for healing, peace, and spiritual strength.
You may be encouraged to continue with regular prayer, Bible study, participation in church, and ongoing pastoral support.
What if nothing dramatic happens?
Many people expect intense experiences because of stories they’ve heard. In reality, some people simply feel calmer or more hopeful afterward, while others notice gradual changes over days or weeks. A lack of dramatic manifestations does not necessarily mean the session was ineffective.
Healthy deliverance ministry should…
Treat you with dignity and respect.
Never force physical contact or pressure you to react in a certain way.
Allow you to stop the session at any time.
Avoid blaming every mental or physical health issue on spiritual causes.
Encourage appropriate medical or mental health care when needed.
If you’re feeling anxious
By all means ask when you book your session, everything will be explained
Who will be present?
How long does the session usually last?
Will there be physical contact, and only with my consent?
